Buyers Guide to Buying Treated Timber
1. Make sure the timber you are buying is treated to the correct user class
2. Tell the supplier what the end use is. Is it going into the ground, or will the timber have ground contact?
3. Ask the supplier to verify the use class that the wood supplied meets and have this information printed on your delivery note and invoice. If possible, ask to be supplied with a treatment certificate.
4. Do not accept that it is suitable just because it is treated green or brown.
